Tinku

I sit in the winter sun
In a red plastic chair
Tinku ,my neighbor's dog
stares bleary eyed at me.

It is a white and fluffy
pomeranian,
with rarely brushed teeth.

It barks at the kids
on tricycles
And Amma of course thinks
Its too stupid for a dog,
recounting the lore of
Blackie and Brownie
Who unlike our friend
Rarely threw tantrums
or asked for
Idli with ghee.
